What is Reliance Jio?

Reliance Jio, most commonly known as Jio, is a subsidiary brand of Jio Platform. A telecommunication company with its headquarter in Mumbai, India. 

It does not offer 2G and 3G services. Instead, it operates an LTE network with coverage across all 22 telecom circles. 

They commercially started their 4G services on September 5, 2016, and within one month after its launch, it acquired 1.6 crores (16 million) subscribers. That crossed the five crores (50 million) subscribers mark within 83 days after its launch. 

A report issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in July 2020 showed that Jio leads the wireless subscriber market share, with 40,08,03,819 subscribers. They added 35.54 lakh subscribers in July 2020 and became the first Indian mobile network that crosses the four hundred million customers markup. That makes it the largest mobile network operator in India and the third-largest in the world.
